Holland Park Pilates studio is located in a stunning Victorian villa in London's exclusive Holland Park. The studio is a large and beautiful space overlooking the terrace and garden providing a tranquil atmosphere and excellent facilities. Reinhard Michaels teaches Pilates to a wide range of clients here from the aged to the teenager to the professional dancer and athlete. A range of classes are available to suit each individual's requirements, there are mat and equipment classes for semi private classes for 2 people or for those who prefer one to one tutoring, private lessons can be arranged.
Pilates is a form of exercise for everyone, Pilates teaches a pain free experience in order to strengthen and re-align the body. Reinhard, a professional actor and dancer for 20 years, came to Pilates after an accident while dancing on Broadway - rehabilitated through Pilates - he now practices on a daily basis to maintain fitness and flexibility. He ran his own fitness company for 7 years in New York as a private/personal trainer. He has set up Holland Park Pilates studio to share his knowledge through teaching Pilates. His methods are based on the principle of Pilates, namely, breathing, axial elongation-spine flexibility, weight bearing through upper and lower extremities, and shoulder and pelvic organisation. Through the flexibility of the spine you gain strength and subtleness, that will enhance your daily life.
Reinhard's teaching is firmly based on an holistic approach involving the spirit, the body and the mind and their interconnectivity - he uses Pilates to teach a sense of wellbeing, to get a person to understand that they have the perfect body with perhaps only a few bad habits which through the bespoke work with him they will be taught to change into a more functional habit.
