The Eames lounger and ottoman were designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1956 for a birthday present for their friend Billy Wilder the filmmaker. Today it's arguably one of the most enduring furniture designs of the last century, still sought after, and an investment piece, the lounger and chair using quality leather and bentwood veneer reflected the modern period. It's still possible to find vintage examples of these chairs in excellent original condition. Charles and Ray Eames designed furniture for the Herman Miller factory and developed modern designer office furniture, chairs and tables using revolutionary new techniques.

Decoratum is Europe's largest gallery specialising in the furniture and lighting designs of the 20th Century. Displaying only original designer pieces this amazing collection is arranged in room sets over 5000 sq ft of space - all in the heart of central London's Marylebone.
The concept of this gallery space is to present the stunning furniture and lighting pieces in room sets - there are sixteen in all occupying ten rooms.
To complement the furniture are original artworks and fine art photographs and an eclectic range of other quirky antiques that just fit with the room design layout. Every piece has been carefully chosen with love by the owners of this gallery and the result is an extraordinary collection of often rare pieces.
