DAMSTEEG - Bar, Tapas, Wine Tasting, Wines and Bites!

Mr Damsteeg himself is there to welcome you to the Damsteeg Bar which is situated in the heart of Amsterdam in the charming Jordaan area known as 'De 9 Straatjes' - the Nine Streets this is part of the famous Jordaan area just two minutes away from the Dam Square and the Anne Frank House - this is one of Amsterdam's most popular shopping and dining areas.

Damsteeg's Bar occupies the ground floor of a 16th century canal house, although recently refurbished it has retained it's traditional Dutch atmosphere reminiscent of the 1920's, with it's wooden interior and Art Deco posters and lighting. Known as Damsteeg Wine and Bites they offer tapas, bitterbollen (a popular Dutch snack to have as an aperatif - cheese and deep fried meat rissoles)a selection of 55 wines by the glass, champagne and spirits and off course a range of beers on tap.

There is a terrace lining the narrow street, with attractive parasols, tables and chairs which give the place an almost Venetian air. When the weather permits, you can sip your drink and leisurely watch the world go by. This is a great place to meet up for an evening out or for an aperatif. If you'd like to move on to dinner the Damsteeg Restaurant is just next door this informal but elegant eaterie offers excellent cuisine, including Dutch, French and International specialities. Furnished with comfortable armchairs and white linen table cloths.

Although just a short walk from the Dam Square - there are ample parking spots nearby on the Prinsengracht or the Europark in the Jordaan.
